Jim Brogan, instructor in Personal Development was recently named 2011 Advisor of the Year by a leading industry publication. Senior Market Advisor, a publication for financial advisors specializing in retirement services, recognized Jim in its September issues. The Advisor of the Years awards the top advisor who is successful, trustworthy, committed, ethical and community-focused.

Jim is founder and president of Brogan Financial and has been in financial planning for 10 years. He found his niche with the retirement of his parents in 2002. “My parents were aging and I saw their needs were unique and I saw there were very few professionals who understood their unique needs and also served them effectively,” said Brogan.

“The day someone retires they cross a very important line,” said Brogan. “Once that line is crossed, people move out of the income accumulation phase of life, into a distribution phase and they begin to draw money from their life savings.

As an instructor for Personal Development since 2007, Jim has taught hundreds of retirees about how to invest for the best years of their lives.  Jim will teach two sessions of his Financial Survival for Retirement class this fall.
