The Tennessee Professional Photography Association held their 61st annual convention this past weekend. The event consists of a trade show, photography seminars and photograph competitions all geared for professional photographers in the State of Tennessee.

UT Non-Credit instructor Colby McLemore took the time to attend the convention for the first time. In doing so, Mr. McLemore was well-recognized at the meeting, winning multiple photograph competitions. He took home the Presidential Award (for top scoring print), Photographer of the Year (for top average score on all prints) and the Stan Baker First Timer Award (top average score for first timers.) This is the first time ever for the TPPA annual competitions. Mr. McLemore also won Best in Show in the Commercial category, two Judges Choice Awards, Top Ten Award (one of the top ten averages), Kodak Award (highest score on Kodak paper) and two Distinguished Awards for Commercial – Architectural and Commercial – Illustrative.

Mr. McLemore runs his own photography business in Knoxville and has taught various classes for the UT Non-Credit Photography Certificate since 2009. This fall you can find him teaching Adobe Lightroom and Food Photography to a new crop of budding photographers.
