Ultramarathons are races longer than the 26.2-mile marathon and are exploding in popularity as runners look for new challenges.

Running an ultra takes you 50k, 50 miles, or even longer distances, often on challenging trails in beautiful locations.

UT Professional & Personal Development will host a non-credit course “Take Running to the Next Level: An Introduction to Ultramarathons” on Saturday, October 30.

Instructor Susan Donnelly will explain what’s involved with running an ultramarathon, how to get started, and tips on getting started.

A 12-year ultramarathon veteran, Donnelly will cover training, racing, gear, and other related things. Interested runners welcome, regardless of experience level.

The course fee is $49; online registration is available.
