The staff of UT Professional & Personal Development recognizes that creative writing is a good outlet for self-expression, and it has scheduled seven non-credit creative writing courses for its students this fall.

I’ve already written about author Tom Bird’s two writing courses in a previous post, so today’s post will briefly describe our other offerings.

Intensive Writing Fiction (begins Sept. 21) — This workshop allows you to improve your current fiction project and helps you learn more about writing by reading the works of others.

Playwriting: Writing the Ten-Minute Scene (begins Sept. 23) — This new course will acquaint you with the skills and knowledge required to see your writing staged and published.

Introduction to Screenwriting Basics (begins Sept. 23) — This exploration of the craft of screenwriting is for anyone who has an idea he thinks would make a great film.

Self-Publishing Boot Camp (Oct. 2) — Our new one-day boot camp will explain the entire process of self-publishing a book in multiple formats.

Getting Started Writing Your Life Story (Oct. 14) — If you’ve ever wanted to write a memoir (for publication or for your family) but haven’t been sure how to get started, this course will show you how.
