The UT Paralegal Studies Certificate Program is a comprehensive, intensive course of study that offers students the opportunity to realize a new career or enhance one in just four months.

Our program focuses on the skills necessary to work at the highest level of the paralegal profession, and it was developed with the working student in mind. Our evening program in Knoxville and Nashville allows you to continue working your daytime job.

Our next program begins Sept. 14 in Knoxville and Sept. 16 in Nashville. Courses are taught by attorneys who actively practice law in each city.

Students in Knoxville will take the core program plus substantive courses in torts and criminal law. “I’ve been in the legal field for two years, and it surprised me how much I still have to learn about other types of law,” said former student Kelley Griffin of Knoxville.

Students enrolled in Nashville will take the core program plus substantive courses in torts and contract law. “(Contract Law was) the most effective course in learning to read, understand, and analyze real cases!” said Kristine Sumner Grigg of Nashville, who completed the program in spring 2010.

In addition to the coursework taught by our instructor attorneys, you’ll also have online lecture notes, exercises with instant feedback, mock exams, templates and forms, and individual LexisNexis access.

If you’d like to learn more about the program, we’re hosting free information sessions in Knoxville on Aug. 5 and Aug. 31 and in Nashville on Aug. 3 and Aug. 26. Please pick a date and e-mail me to reserve your spot and I’ll reply immediately with the time and location.
