UT Professional & Personal Development hosted its annual certificate awards ceremony last Thursday for students who have completed requirements for the UT Photography Certificate.

Thirty students received certificates of completion after presenting a portfolio of images they took during fieldwork associated with the non-credit program.

I was impressed at the quality of Steve C. Smith’s portfolio (right). Being a sports fan, I couldn’t help but notice his terrific image of the jubilant youngster playing flag football. The portfolios of his classmates were similarly impressive.

To quality for the certificate, students must complete the required Fundamentals of Digital Photography I and II courses as well as six photography electives. (View the complete program requirements.) The fundamentals courses will be offered again in September.

Students honored last week were Terena Lambert Boone, Mary Ann Brannan, Russell Bryson, Doyle Carter, Tracey L. Cato, Ellen M. Cole, Ted Esch, Michelle A. Evans, Dewey Fogerson, Kenneth Haden, Jody Hendrick, Debbie Hendrix, Susan Hind, Jim Holladay, Midge Jessiman, Tammy Lee, Terry F. Lee, Joesph C. Leonard, Donald G. Muldrew, Michael D.
