I’ve been reminded several times that today is Earth Day.

The best reminder came in the form of an e-mail from the Middle Tennessee Paralegal Association (MTPA).

The message included several small steps everyone can take to make a big impact on the environment:

+ Recycle your Sunday newspaper every week and keep four trees alive per year and increase Earth’s oxygen.

+ Completing errands all at once instead of making separate trips and you will prevent more than 1,200 pounds of greenhouse gas from being emitted and reduce global warming.

+ Recycle six aluminum cans every week and you will save enough energy to power a television for 936 hours and 1/2 gallon of gas.

+ Reduce the time you spend in your daily shower by five minutes and you will save up to 9,000 gallons of water.
